BREAKING NEWS - 11 June 2015:

This morning, the SUPREME COURT OF CANADA ruled in favor of the Respondent, and held that the limit of Dried Marihuana infringed on the security of the person, with threat of imprisonment.

***
The prohibition on possession of non‑dried forms of medical marihuana limits the s. 7  Charter  right to liberty of the person in two ways. First, the prohibition deprives S as well as medical marihuana users of their liberty by imposing a threat of imprisonment on conviction under s. 4(1)  or 5(2)  of the CDSA . Second, it limits the liberty of medical users by foreclosing reasonable medical choices through the threat of criminal prosecution. Similarly, by forcing a person to choose between a legal but inadequate treatment and an illegal but more effective one, the law also infringes security of the person.

This is a big win for the Dispensaries (who provide quality medicine, although still illegal), and a win for the Big Pharma producers (who provide potential GMO expensive shit, who can now make more money).   Drug dealers (Doctors) who were afraid to prescribe Dried Medical Marihuna to those asking for it, can now feel a bit more at ease when perscribing, knowing that they can write a prescription and the patient has options. ... it's still a Royal Pain to actually get it from a Licenced producer... at it is 1 step forward in the right direction.

The next step is to help those MPs who have not yet made a cannabis policy statement make a decision, and ask them about their views on this case. There are 70 MPs in this boat.

Please take time and share the link with all MPs and ask them what they think of this ruling https://www.facebook.com/lists/10152431043155121 :) It's OK not to be in their riding and worth getting blocked over :)

Another big step forward is the hearings on regulating Vancouver Dispensaries. (this happens this evening think) Victoria will also be regulating, as the Mayor recognizes the value of having safe access to cannabis.
