"
My colleagues have been very clear on the parts of the bill we do support, and that is to expedite the provisions relating to the protection of children from pornography and assault, and in fact to hold off on measures such as mandatory sentencing for youth who might be caught with five marijuana plants.

Not sure of stance (but it is interesting to note how the negative 'attack add' worked in the NDP's favour. .. Linda did get elected.

10oct2008 - NDP says Conservative ad blows smoke on marijuana An NDP candidate in Edmonton is accusing the Conservative incumbent of doing dirty politics with a radio ad accusing New Democrat Leader Jack Layton of warmly endorsing marijuana use.

"
An NDP candidate in Edmonton is accusing the Conservative incumbent of doing dirty politics with a radio ad accusing New Democrat Leader Jack Layton of warmly endorsing marijuana use.
"When asked about marijuana, Jack Layton called it a wonderful substance, which Canadians should be free to smoke at home or in a café," states the ad, run by Rahim Jaffer's campaign.
"Edmontonians understand how difficult it is to make sure our children make the right choices, especially on serious issues like drug use. The Conservative party supports drug-free schools and getting tough with drug dealers who sell illegal drugs to children. Don't let our schools go up in smoke . . . on Oct. 14 vote Conservative."
Linda Duncan, the NDP candidate running against Jaffer in Edmonton-Strathcona, called the ad a low blow and cited it as proof that Jaffer's running scared from the left.

re: Does Linda Duncan support the removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?
Dear Linda Duncan,
Do you support the simple removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?, and let it be treated the same as Lettuce, Tomato, Oregano, Roses, Aloe Vera, Fern or any other common garden herb, flower or house plant?
Do you know the difference between Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis?
I look forward to receiving your responses as it will be made public, so then others wont need to ask you the same question.
Kind regards,
Sam Vekemans (address)
P.S. All 307 Members of Parliament are being asked these same questions.
