Welcome to the “Coke-Nord”

The wealth generated by the mining boom and the arrival of huge numbers of workers on the Côte-Nord (North Shore) has resulted in an upsurge in drug trafficking in this vast region of Quebec.
...

“Substantial increase”
Innu MP Jonathan Genest-Jourdain, who recently spoke out against prostitution on the Côte-Nord, also believes that the major mining projects and the Romaine dam project have led to an expansion of the drug trade.
“Yes, it’s part of everything that goes with the announcement of major projects on the Côte-Nord. History tells us that there will be a major upswing in drug trafficking. Some new synthetic drugs are even making the rounds. The problem is the low cost of the product and the target market; these are often youth who have only a few dollars in their pockets and decide to go buy a pill.”

re: Does Jonathan Genest-Jourdain support the removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?
Dear Jonathan Genest-Jourdain,
Do you support the simple removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?, and let it be treated the same as Lettuce, Tomato, Oregano, Roses, Aloe Vera, Fern or any other common garden herb, flower or house plant?
Do you know the difference between Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis?
I look forward to receiving your responses as it will be made public, so then others wont need to ask you the same question.
Kind regards,
Sam Vekemans (address)
P.S. All 307 Members of Parliament are being asked these same questions.
