E-122 Cannabis Petition - Royal Commission on Cannabis

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

Does (Member of Parliament) support the removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?

This is the letter that i am writing to every MP, editing the information for each MP (so it's not a spam letter).  I plan on faxing this, if i don't get a response.
A formal letter has 5 spaces before the start of the letter, which is the date, then 2 spaces for the address-to section, then 1 space, then the phone/fax/email info, then 2 spaces.  Then the Salutation 'Dear' and the name of the person.   The purpose of this letter is informative, and simply asking a question.  I don't expect a response, however, expectation is that it might entice the receive (a staff member at the office who receives the emails) to do a little research.  I do plan on Tweeting, and posting to each members Facebook page, and snail mailing them letters.  This is just a start.

Dear Patrick Brown,

Do you support the simple removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?, and let it be treated the same as Lettuce, Tomato, Oregano, Roses, Aloe Vera, Fern or any other common garden herb, flower or house plant?

Do you know the difference between Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis?

I look forward to receiving your responses as it will be made public, so then others wont need to ask you the same question.
