- Sam Vekemans Thanks! I'm looking for some form of online public statement that i can quote from. ... my next question would be Why does he have that view?. ... the more detailed answer the better.
He did ask constituents the question in his Fall 2013 newsletter (which is more than what most MPs have done on the issue)
http://servingbarrie.ca/.../01-03-PatrickBrown-Fall2013.pdf - Erich Jacoby-Hawkins Your best bet is to go directly to Patrick's FB page and ask there. Mention that it's a follow-up to his newsletter question.
- Sam Vekemans Patrick Brown has allergies to contacting anyone outside the walls of his riding. (many MPs do) And his profile is blocked locked to outsider messaging.
- Patrick Brown Honestly, I am torn on this issue. I dont want to encourage the use of drugs amongst youth but I feel cannabis does not pose the same dangers as other more serious drugs. I am particularly interested in the proposal put forth by the Chief of Police Association on decriminalization. I put a lot of weight into the opinions of law enforcement on this issue. I worry it is a misuse of law enforcement resources. Thanks Erich for flagging this comment for me.
- Sam Vekemans Thanks Patrick! That's good enough answer for now to use as the quote.
Probably just need to know some more facts about the issue.
This is a good starter video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dazqMXP4qlg

@brownbarrie Isn't it about time to unschedule Cannabis as a controlled substance? Thanks in advance for your support! #cdnpoli

Dear Patrick Brown,
Do you support the simple removal of cannabis as a schedule II controlled substance from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19)?, and let it be treated the same as Lettuce, Tomato, Oregano, Roses, Aloe Vera, Fern or any other common garden herb, flower or house plant?
Do you know the difference between Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis?
I look forward to receiving your responses as it will be made public, so then others wont need to ask you the same question.
Kind regards,
Sam Vekemans (address)
P.S. All 307 Members of Parliament are being asked these same questions.
